Blackpool Community Water Sports Park has partnered with Blackpool Wake Park to provide the community with an opportunity to engage in a variety of water based activities, delivered by an enthusiastic, friendly team of qualified instructors and allow social interaction for both participants and non-participants. The activities provided have the ability to allow a full spectrum of people to participate from the very young to the more mature and can be adapted to suit the needs of others such as those with special educational needs and/or physical disabilities. These experiences encourage confidence, self esteem and have a positive effect on health, well-being and lifestyle.
“…….our barriers to learning have been almost invisible in this environment” (Vicky Farish, Pear Tree School, Kirkham)
“……..it was fantastic to see the young people so confident in the water. They were all enthusiastic and willing to try things without the fear of failure…. with enormous smiles on their faces” (Julie Naylor , Ridgewood Community High School, Burnley)
“…….the sense of belonging has challenged the group to work together and encouraged them to consider others before themselves ” (Ben Davies, The McKee Centre, Poulton )
